The Battle of Gettysburg to be played at Orccon
We will be doing the entire battle of Gettysburg at Orccon on Saturday, February 15th starting at 9 am. Orccon is at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport. The website is at: http://www.strategicon.net/
What part of the Battle of Gettysburg, you ask? The whole thing! We have a long table that will have the entire battlefield stretched out from Little Round Top all the way to Herr Ridge. We'll basically be doing the fighting from each day in one big battle royale. So come take the role of your favorite general and play the whole thing to see what would have happened if Lee had attacked on all fronts at once.

Command Combat Pictures from Kubla Con
Command Combat: Civil War played at Kubla Con earlier this year. Craig Robertson hosted the Battle of Wilson's Creek. It was an interesting fight as the Union cavalry went straight after the Confederate supplies right in the center and held there against relentless attacks. The Confederates at last squeezed them on both sides and at the end, pressed them out. They used paper minis from Billy Bones, which are available on Wargame Vault. Below are pictures from the battle:

First Battle of Bull Run - Incomplete Battle Report
This was the first battle report I made. We ran out of time, so the game wasn't finished, and I had a lot to learn about making battle reports. I'll redo First Bull Run/Manassas at some point, but this one at least gives a sense of the game.

We'll probably be doing the second day on Friday and the third day on Saturday.

The Battle of Bull Run / Manassas a Confederate Victory! (Originally posted July 24, 2011)
We had one player for each general
for the Battle of Bull Run / Manassas at Game Empire at Pasadena, and it ended
with a Confederate victory. The Union first division pushed across
Manassas Creek at the bridge and at the ford, while the second and third
divisions pushed down from the north. The Confederates lined up on Henry
House Hill and challenged the Yankees to come at them, which they did.
Stuart's cavalry rushed past the Union far right flank and threatened some
artillery emplacements. They were chased off by the Union cavalry.
Stuart, leading the Confederate cavalry, fooled some of the Union soldiers to
lay down their arms and surrender. The rest charged and were shot
down. Meanwhile, the Yankee charge at the hill was repulsed by
Beauregard's main army.
Above is the first group of people to play. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Thanks to all who participated!
Shawn Hendrix was the first person to buy a copy of the game, seen below.
The Battle of Bull Run / Manassas at Game Empire (Originally posted July 21, 2011)
Command Combat: Civil War will have
its release party at Game Empire in Pasadena. We will be playing the
Battle of Bull Run / Manassas to commemorate the 150th anniversary of that
battle which launched the American Civil War. Play as the cautious
McDowell, the stern "Stonewall" Jackson, the flamboyant JEB Stuart,
one of the Union divisional generals, such as Tyler or Hunter, or one of the
Confederate division generals, such as Johnston or Beauregard. The game
reflects the personalities of these generals.
The address for Game Empire is:
